Society affiliation Local ploughing societies may affiliate to the Society of Ploughmen - the affiliation fee is £20 (including VAT) per year. Affiliated societies may nominate one competitor to plough in the British National Ploughing Championships. Copies of the official ploughing rules and score sheets are available to affiliated societies on request. Ploughing match dates of all affiliated societies are published free of charge by the Society of Ploughmen in their newsletter which will be sent to the secretary twice a year.
